Six Integrated Data Streams

The Brake IQ system integrates six data streams to analyze interlink braking performance. This approach provides your workshop team and safety auditors with detailed compliance evidence.

1. Dynamic Deceleration

We measure stopping performance under full-load dynamic conditions, recording the deceleration curve over the entire braking event.

2. External Wheel Speed Sensors

Our external wheel sensors monitor wheel rotation speeds to track slip ratios and lockups on each axle, isolating mechanical lining issues.

3. Brake Chamber Pressure

We log the pressure delivered to each brake chamber during stopping cycles, identifying line leaks, valve failures, and left-right pressure imbalances.

4. Brake Time Response

Our timing analysis calculates the delay between tractor pedal application and trailer brake chamber engagement, identifying pneumatic lag in long combinations.

5. J1939 CAN Bus Integration

We plug into the tractor’s J1939 link to pull active ABS/EBS fault codes, electronic indicators, and engine braking parameters during testing.

6. API Fleet Console

All test data is uploaded directly to your online account, organizing reports, compliance history, and sitemap/document retrieval.

System Details

Brake IQ reports include detailed diagnostic summaries to support workshop teams in identifying root causes of brake performance issues.

  • Pins down trailer response lag in milliseconds.
  • Identifies valve issues and pressure imbalances.
  • Checks ECU warnings and ABS/EBS faults.
  • Stores vehicle test history in the fleet console.
